Hello,
I am having trouble with my Internet explorer.It is doing some very odd things.Sometimes it will completely close the page i am visiting for no reason or it will be very slow loading pages and when i say slow i mean very very very slow for eg i tried to google something and after 10 minutes of the page trying to load i gave up.I thought that it was perhaps the topic i was searching so i tried putting in random things to see if that made any difference but it didn't.Another problem i had was when i was on a forum and clicked on a link and nothing happened i tried to open a new tab and that wouldn't work either and it would let me access any options that are in my tools menu.i had to restart my computer.Just to let you know i have high speed Internet connection.Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with this problem.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Windows...
What connection speeds are you running?
DSL OR Cable?
Cable connections (Here) are a Giant LAN setup, (makes it easier for kids to have fun they shouldn't with a Cable) where as DSL isn't.

What ISP are you using? (AOL?)

Off the cuff it Sounds like Spyware (for openers)
Try Ad Aware - Google it.

After you do that;
Clean out your trash files (IE Cache, Prefetch, etc.)
and Defrag your hard drive. You should be in decent shape.
(The Going rate for that is about $75 at most shops).

Have a look at "System Mechanic" it's a nice tool chest.

Other advice:
Stay away from File Share and skin sites - it's about the fastest way to pick up a little more than you bargained for.

-- Strange - You mentioned "Tab" as in tabbed browsing a feature that IE doesn't feature to the best of my knowlege (IE 7 does, but thats not included with most existing versions of XP). If you downloaded it, might I be so brazen as to suggest that you try Firefox, and remove IE from your system. (Maxthon is a nice alternative to IE).
